I was born and raised in Leeds, and that's where my tennis journey started. I began playing tennis at the age of 4 years old, and whilst I played tennis I enjoyed all sports, competing in cricket and football. Cricket was my other main sport, playing county cricket for Yorkshire until I was 15.
I went to American University on a scholarship, doing one year at the University of Florida followed by 3 years at Clemson University. This is where I really started to believe I could become a professional, and after graduating with a degree in Sports Management, I began my professional career.
During my pro career I have trained at TeamBath Tennis academy based at the University of Bath under the coaching of Ian Macdonald and Dave Sammel, and more recently adding Calvin Betton to my team as a coach. I also train at the National Tennis Center in London.
Outside of tennis I love watching and talking all sports, spending time with my family and friends from all over the UK and the world, and I have a growing passion for coffee! When I am at home in Leeds I help coach at the David Lloyd, with all age groups hoping to inspire them to follow my same journey or to just help them to improve at tennis as much as they can. I started my tennis in that same program at David Lloyd so that is something that is very important to me. I am also a player representative for the wider playing group for the LTA, and I mentor aspiring professional athletes from The Grammar School at Leeds (the school I attended.)
